We all think we know what the word “PEACE” means. But in today’s Russia, under Vladimir Putin, this simple word can twist into something entirely different — even becoming dangerous to say out loud. How has the Kremlin managed to reshape one of humanity’s oldest hopes into a tool of repression and propaganda?
In her new public lecture, the brilliant and witty Ksenia Turkova takes apart just one word from Putin’s vocabulary: PEACE. Through eye-opening stories and surprising linguistic turns, she reveals how language itself can be weaponized — and why it matters now, as debates about ending the war grow ever more urgent.
