PUSH: Black Mamas Changing the Culture of Birth- April 15 & 16, 2026

This 45‑minute theatrical collage brings forward the lived experiences of Black doulas, midwives, public health professionals, birthing people, and community healers. Through humor, truth-telling, and powerful storytelling, PUSH examines the impacts of systemic racism in maternal health—and celebrates the joy and resilience of Black mothers and families.

We are offering two distinct showtimes to accommodate varying schedules.

This production is made possible through funding from three OHA Employee Resources Groups (Black, African, and African American ERG; Healthy Families ERG; and the People of Color ERG), Oregon Family and Child Health, and the Office of the State Public Health Director.

By blending storytelling, lived experiences, and advocacy, the theatrical collage will serve as both an artistic expression and a call to action for equitable maternal health care.
