Robert McKenzie’s vision for his 2RST lifestyle brand and mindset was born during an epiphany moment at a difficult time in his life that challenged him to appreciate the present moment and the familiar with fresh eyes. This evolved into encouraging others to live every day like a 2RST (tourist) in their own surroundings by embracing curiosity, open-mindedness, and adventure while appreciating diversity and practicing mindfulness. To help with the latter, you’re invited to experience the first ever sound bath at 2RST on Saturday, March 21, from 9:00-11:00 am - the day after the Spring Equinox - facilitated by Matty Makowski, a certified Sound Healing & Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Practitioner and owner of Matty Sunshine Sound Healing, with moments planned on either side of the sonic journey to help you stay in the present moment and appreciate the beauty of daily experiences.
As the world begins to awaken with the springtime, you're invited to join us to also awaken by purposefully pausing and reflecting on your present moment at that time through healing sounds, vibrations, and frequencies to help guide you into living a more aligned, balanced, and authentic new season.
NOTE BY 2RST. The event begins with an opportunity to step into the spring season by reflecting on the present moment by writing a note to your 2027 self one year in the future. Whether it’s an emotional release on paper, manifesting future dreams, or honoring current challenges or successes, this reflection is designed to help you calm your mind before the sound bath by appreciating where your journey has taken you up to this time. Following the event, Robert will mail each guest their letter one year later in March 2027.
SOUND BATH. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience that can help balance the mind, body, and soul. During this soothing, 60-minute sound bath, Matty plays various instruments that produce specific sounds, frequencies, and vibrations that can shift a person’s brainwaves into an enhanced relaxed state. In this state, a person's innate healing abilities can work more effectively to balance the mind, body, and spirit. Matty’s instruments, all with historical reputations for promoting healing, include 8 pure quartz crystal singing bowls, a Heng gong named “Sunny”, Tibetan Tingsha cymbals, and more.
2RST COFFEE SAMPLER. Following the sound bath, guests are invited to sample two of 2RST’s specialty grade coffee blends, one roasted by Lantern Coffee in Grand Rapids and the other by Temecula Coffee Roasters based in California.

What to Bring: You are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, cozy clothes, and plenty of water. Depending on the thickness of your yoga mat, you may also consider bringing something additional to lay on top of, like an extra blanket, sleeping bag, or even a pool float. Eye masks will also be available if needed to help enhance your relaxation. If you will need to sit upright for the entire sound bath, you are invited to bring your own chair (e.g., a camping chair). Approximately one week prior to the event, all registered guests will receive an email with important details and reminders.
