First half of the show will include the contemporary-Flamenco fusion pieces created by Annette Champion Flores and Andrea "La Flor" GonzĂĄlez. These two esteemed movement artists are native to San Antonio with many years experience of dance training and performance, connected by their love of dance and the San Antonio legend, la Maestra Teresa Champion. The second half will bring the Texas Flamenco Legacy to stage in a traditional Flamenco Tablao setting with live music by Chayito Champion al cante, Billy Thatcher al toque, and Miguel Saito a la percusion and las BAILAORAS Alma Rocha (Saturday), Mayra Ortiz (Sunday), Andrea "La Flor" GonzĂĄlez, and Annette Champion Flores!
Sunday's performance is a special celebration in honor of El DĂa Internacional del Flamenco and Chayito's birthday! Join us for a JUERGA, a fun party with music, dance, and libations (BYOB)! Bring your instruments, dancing shoes, castanets, fans, and shawls for more dancing to follow the grand finale on Sunday at Teresa Champion Dance Academy!
