About this Event
During our life we experience many difficult and often inexplicable situations such as sickness, harm from others, and mental pain. Buddha taught that the main reason we experience these things is due to the ripening of negative karma from our past lives. He also taught methods to remove the negative karmic potentials from our mind that leads to these experiences so that we never have to experience their painful results. These methods are known as "purification practices" and are one of the greatest gifts that Buddha bestowed.
During this three-week in-depth series, Gen Rabka will guide us along an exploration of karma, with particular focus on how to go about purifying our negative karma through the application of "the four opponent powers": the power of regret, the power of reliance, the power of the opponent force, and the power of promise. During this series Gen Rabka will also teach about two specific purification practices: Meditation & Recitation of Solitary Vajrasattva, and The 35 Confession Buddhas.
This series will lead up to a weekend purification retreat taking place on 25-26 Nov, that you can find out more about by clicking here (Vajrasattva Purification Retreat).
This class is open to everyone regardless of experience, and you're welcome to join us at any time. Do note however, that this is an in-depth Buddhist class and will therefore assume some knowledge of the deeper aspects of Buddhism such as past and future lives and karma.
