Punjabi Open Mic - A Variety Arts Show at the Music Room

This is an open mic event that invites all the Punjabis to take the stage using any form of performance art whether it is stand-up comedy, poetry, spoken word, singing, or anything else. Some performances can be in Hindi or English as long as the material can connect with the general audience present.

The doors will open at 04:00 PM. Get a chance to win our special punctuality prize by coming on time. Everyone who arrives before 4:30 pm will be entered into a raffle and at the end of the event we will draw the lucky winner. Prizes may vary from one event to another.

Tickets: Performers who preregister don't have to pay. If you are with a performer you get $5 off the ticket price.

Venue: The Music Room, Bramalea Civic Centre

It is the same building where the Brampton Library Chingacousy Branch is also where Lester B. Pearson Theatre is. Someone will be in the main hallway to guide you to the Music Room.

To get to the music room go towards the bathrooms. Pass the bathrooms and turn right in the hallway in front of you and you will find the music room.

Parking: Free Parking.

The Civic Centre has its own parking lot, you can also park in the Hudson's Bay Parking lot.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PERFORMERS:-

All the performers are requested to arrive at the doors open time for the event. We will be finalizing the list 30 mins before the show start time and if you are not there your spot is not guaranteed.

Also, if any performer cannot attend the event or is running late for a legitimate reason, you must inform us as soon as possible.

Sound: We will have a mic, stand and a speaker. The speaker will have an aux cable along with an adapter for iphone as well to connect your phone for background music. The speaker has one extra XLR/quarter inch input.

If you need anything additional for sound you need to get in touch with us to make a prior arrangement. We usually have a 4 channel mixer plus 2 additional mics and stand but they have to be requested before the event.
