To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of one of the worlds most celebrated opera composers, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University presents two of Puccini’s One Act Operas-Suor Angelica, a tragic tale of repentance within an Italian convent, and his only comedy, Gianni Schicchi, where love, lies, and treachery take place around a family funeral.Conducted by the Conservatorium’s Professor of Opera & Orchestral Studies, Johannes Fritzsch , directed by the acclaimed Lindy Hume, and featuring the legendary soprano aria O mio babbino caro, this is one double bill that is not to be missed.
