Publishing Insights Day

Comma Press presents Publishing Insights Day 2023. This one day in-person conference will offer prospective publishing professionals in the North of England the chance to learn first-hand from those working in the industry. Returning to an in-person format the day will consist of two talks and several quick pitches from those working in different roles across the industry.

Out of the 2021 Publishers Association Respondents, 7% of the workforce grew up in the North of England, with only 1% remaining there and 80% of the total workforce now based in either London or the South East of England.

Those who were privately educated (19%), and those educated to a degree level (83%) continue to be overrepresented in the workforce in relation to the population.

The aim of the Publishing Insights Day is to give those from the North of England insight and advice into how to enter the industry.
