Public speaking training this Thursday

Take a deep breath. Every new day is a chance to begin again.

This week's Weston-Mount Dennis Toastmasters meeting is inspired by the theme Fresh Air, Fresh Start a reminder that growth often begins with a new perspective, a courageous first step, or simply the willingness to try something different.

Our Table Topics session will explore this theme through fun, thought-provoking questions. You'll have the opportunity to speak for 1–2 minutes on the spot, sharing your ideas, experiences, or imagination in a supportive and encouraging environment. It's like having a meaningful conversation with friends while building confidence in public speaking.

Every meeting also features:

• A Toastmaster Chair who guides the meeting and brings the theme to life.
• A Speaker delivering a prepared speech (typically 5–7 minutes).
• Evaluators who provide constructive and encouraging feedback.
• A Grammarian who celebrates effective language and vocabulary.
• A Timer who helps everyone practice speaking within time limits.
• A Quiz Master who keeps us engaged by testing our listening skills with a fun, fast-paced quiz.

Whether you're looking to become a more confident speaker, improve your leadership skills, or simply meet welcoming people in your community, every meeting is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Online or In person?

We are online, but we are very local to the Weston and Mount Dennis Community. When we hold events, they are in the neighbourhood. e.g. we held a 1.5 hour workshop on the Fear of Public Speaking at the Weston Branch of the Toronto Public Library in May 2026.
