Learn how to hone your personal presenting style, make the most of your speaking voice, and develop a toolkit of skills that will be with you for life in this intensive training.

The skill of communicating with clarity and authenticity to an audience has so much more to it than just the words we say. It’s said that communication is 55% nonverbal, 38% vocal, and 7% words only. In this workshop, we will work with the 93%: the voice and the body; the vocal and the non-verbal.

This highly interactive course is focused on presentation delivery rather than content. It helps each delegate gain deep insight into their presenting strengths and weaknesses, whilst providing guidance on reaching their full potential.

Course outcomes:

In this training course you will:

  • Learn the key skills of presentation delivery
  • Learn how to make the most of your speaking voice
  • Develop your presenter skillset of vocal and non-verbal skills
  • Learn how to prepare for presenting and deal with nerves
  • Hone your personal presenting style in a supportive environment with direct coaching input

Course content:

Part One:

The Tools of Presentation:

  • The 4 P’s and It: Pace, pitch, pause, power and emphasis
  • How to project your voice: resonance control, muscle engagement and breath management

Body language:

  • Effective gesturing
  • How to avoid undermining yourself
  • Eye contact:
  • How to make your audience welcome
  • Speaking to a large auditorium
  • How to warm up your voice

Part Two:

The Masterclass - A chance to practice and hone your new skills with direct coaching input.

Each delegate is invited to present a short two minute presentation to the group. Julia will work with you on it, highlighting your particular presentation strengths, and homing in on key areas for improvement. There will be learning opportunities for all as Julia works with each participant in turn, demonstrating how to make the necessary adjustments to initiate change and progression.

Preparation

You will need to prepare a 2 minute (max) presentation/pitch/personal introduction. It could be an extract from a presentation/pitch you’ve given before, or one you are working on currently, or even a personal introduction. This is what you will deliver in the Masterclass, and receive coaching on.

Testimonials

One of best public speaking courses I have attended so far. You walk out with useful practical tips even if you are an experienced public speaker. Julia is an absolute pleasure to work with and her masterclass is the cherry on the cake. You don't want to miss this one!

Course attendee, 20 February 2024

I attended the Presentation Skills Course hosted by Julia who was wonderful. I started the class unsure what to expect and left with a great network of women and a renewed confidence in my presentation skills.

This training course was different from the usual presentation courses I’ve done. The fact that Julia is a singer and makes her look at this topic from a different angle. It was amazing to see the impact she made on the presentation skills of each of us within a short period of time. And on top, she created a very relaxed and comfortable environment. Great course and would highly recommend it - even for experienced presenters.
