Giving a powerful talk is not just inspiring, it leads to more donations, stronger board members, and excited staff.
About this Event

What it covers: Alas, no one trains nonprofit leaders in communications and public speaking, so as they rise to the director’s roles, they may lean on versions of the same presentation month after month and year after year. They hope for the best and wonder why the speeches do not hit the mark. But influential, memorable public speaking requires planning, practice, and an ability to translate from organizational language to concepts and vocabulary that makes the audience lean in and want more. Giving a powerful talk is not just inspiring, it leads to more donations, stronger board members, excited staff, and a significant increase in ambassadors in the community who can share news of a nonprofit’s great and important work.

Objectives: Attendees will leave with powerful tools to strengthen their public speaking skillset, regardless of the audience and the goals.

Key takeaways include:

  • Understanding the goals
  • Identifying your true expertise
  • Appreciating the audience’s motivations
  • Reasons to consider retiring Power Point
  • The pros and cons of AI
  • Why stage fright can be a BFF

Intended audience: Any member of a nonprofit leadership team expected to give talks about the organization’s work.

About the Presenter: Sterndale Strategic works with individuals and foundations to help increase the impact of their work through public speaking coaching.
