Perry Gits is an award-winning theater director/performing artist and more recently a club/festival programmer and booker. He uses multiple senses and disciplines in his work to communicate with diverse audiences. Music and movement have always been the driving force in his work.

In his residency, Perry explores the theme of loss and death. The first inspiration is how important and carefully crafted Ghanaian funeral services are from the minute someone dies until they are buried. Perry will also research, for example, the body temperature when someone dies, when the body is kept in a freezer, and the different burial grounds.
