Come out to downtown Cary on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a celebration of community, safety, and connection. The Cary Police Department is hosting Public Safety Day, featuring free activities, local agency showcases, interactive attractions, and food trucks along S. Academy Street. Meet the teams from Cary Police and Fire, and connect with representatives from EMS, WakeMed, and other local organizations working to keep our neighborhoods safe.
We'll also have a disposal booth where you can drop off unwanted, unused, and expired prescription pills and patches. Please note the collection site can only accept pills or patches. No liquids, needles, or sharps.
