Public Policy Day 2025: Shaping a Sustainable Tomorrow

This event is hosted annually with support from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and CSUN Dietetic Interns! It aims to explore how to effectively advocate for public policy through education and hands-on training for students, professionals, and the community. We would like to empower everyone to become advocates on local, state, and national issues.

At the end of this event, you will be able to...

1. Identify one way to advocate for nutrition policy through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

2. Review state bills that increase healthy food access for vulnerable populations

3. Explain how the issue of hunger is being addressing through policies and programs within the community

4. Locate information needed to arrange meetings with local representatives to discuss nutrition related issues

5. Strategize ways to advocate for nutrition and health policies
