About this Event
Public lecture by Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Eldamaty
Join us for an intriguing public lecture by Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Eldamaty, a distinguished Professor of Ancient Egyptian Archaeology at Ain Shams University, Egypt. The lecture will delve into the latest findings from a series of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) surveys conducted in and around the tomb of King Tutankhamun since September 2015.
Prof. Dr. Eldamaty and his team have carried out six scientific missions, the most recent in January 2024, using a variety of advanced GPR devices to gather extensive data. Their research suggests the presence of something significant behind the northern wall of Tutankhamun’s burial chamber, possibly another royal tomb. This discovery raises the fascinating possibility that this hidden chamber could belong to a member of Tutankhamun’s family, with hopes that it might be the tomb of Queen Nefertiti.
Don't miss this opportunity to gain insights into these groundbreaking archaeological investigations and the potential new chapter in our understanding of ancient Egyptian history.
