Unfortunately due to weather this event has been cancelled.The Springfield Astronomical Society will host a Public Astronomical observing event at Springfield Botanical Center/Nathanael Greene Park Friday evening September 2, 2022.
We will have available a number of types and sizes of telescopes to observe the Sun and hopefully Sunspots from shortly after 6:00PM until the Sun gets too low follwed by the Moon and Saturn and perhaps a few other bright objects later in the evening.
We will also be available to answer your questions about the night sky, telescopes, observing, and everything related to amateur astronomy.
