. . .
Camila Ibarra's love for art began in third grade when her first-ever painting, a version of The Great Wave off Kanagawa, sold on Parent Teacher Night before her parents could even see it. As a first-generation Mexican-American growing up in a low-income household, Ibarra poured her creativity into every opportunity, painting her first mural on the walls of her school cafeteria. Since then, her powerful, community-driven work has only grown, ranging from restaurant and private commissions to large-scale public murals, including a recent piece celebrating Tucson's 250+ anniversary. Her art has been featured in The New York Times, HBO's Betty, Arizona Daily Star, and more.
