Public Art Reveal & Metrorail Tour (Grove Central & Douglas Road)
About this Event
Adjacent to one of Miami's oldest neighborhoods, the newly refurbished transit hub and linear park features public art commissions by Asser Saint-Val, Octavia Yearwood and Amani Lewis, Juan Andrés Ledesma Bohl, and Nicolas Lobo. Alexandre Arrechea's murals commissioned by The Undelrine will be accessable and on view at the nearby Grove Market area.
The location's unique intersection with The Underline and Metrorail provides a dynamic view of art in transtit hubs, and allows easy access to more public art commissions along the rail line which the tour will proceed to next via rail, including Felice Grodin's artist-designed fence at Douglas Road Metrorail Station. Public Art commissions by Mette Tommerup, Antonia Wright, and GeoVanna Gonzalez will be visited at the adjacent Platform 3750 facility across US1.
