Public Action Day - With WildCare Guest Speaker
After an informative presentation by WildCare, we will take a short hike around the Nature Center with the park Naturalist. We'll share how to identify invasive plant species found at Lake Thunderbird. Attendees will learn how to remove our target invasive plant species:
Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense)
Eastern redcedar (Juniperus virginiana)
Chinese bushclover (Lezpedeza cuneatea)
Those interested in helping remove invasive plants can volunteer until noon for light work assisting with the invasive plant species removal process. If the weather is not favorable, we will reschedule the event to a later date.
Attendees will come away with a greater knowledge of how to address invasive plants on their own land. Positively impacting the surrounding wildlife and ecosystems!
