PsychSocial - Open Mic Night

PsychSocial is back, and this time, we’re taking the stage… or at least cheering from the front row! 🎤✨

Join us for a night of poetry, music, and connection at Busboys & Poets Anacostia’s Open Mic Night, hosted by @djart.is. This month, we’re coming together to celebrate self-expression, storytelling, and community—plus, we have PsychSocial fam in the lineup so you'll def want to be there to show support! 💫

As a community of mental health professionals, we value spaces that uplift diverse voices and foster connection. March is both Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and Women’s History Month, making this the perfect time to celebrate resilience, creativity, and the power of storytelling. Expect a night of thought-provoking performances, good vibes/food/drinks, and meaningful connections.

I'm akia grace, MPsy and I host a social gathering for psychologists, therapists, social workers, counselors and mental health providers who value play to link up and do just that — PLAY! with such high demand for the work that we offer, we need spaces that are intentionally created for us to just be. to chill. to vibe. to socialize. i know too many clinicians finding their way back from burnout/compassion fatigue. day after day we are holding space for others and we can't expect to just be okay without caring for ourselves too. so i'm hoping this will be a space where you can have a good time and fill up on what you need.

📣 don't bring work here. this is not a networking event. show up ready to meet some new folx, catch some positive vibes, laugh hard, drink & eat well, and enjoy our time together.
