About this Event

Psychology Series: ADHD in women & girls

ADHD has become a popular topic of discussion, but until recently half the population has been left out of the conversation.

ADHD can look very different in women and girls, which means it is often overlooked, misunderstood, or recognized much later in life.

Women and girls with ADHD have historically been left out of the research, left out of the doctor's office, and left without the support they deserve to help them thrive. But that's all changing, so let's talk about it.

Plus, in true Sunday Sounds Good style, we'll bring it all together with live music and warm tea.

--

Madeline Montgomery is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and self-proclaimed ADHD girly. She is here to talk about what ADHD is, why it looks different in women and girls, and how we've slipped through the cracks for so long.

But it's not all doom and gloom! There is hope on the horizon and a growing community of women with ADHD who are finding and supporting each other.

This is a conversation about research, reality, and resilience that will leave you feeling empowered, connected, and inspired.

--

This is the first of a new Sunday Sounds Good Psychology Series; a collection of live community evenings exploring the psychology behind everyday life.

Together with experienced registered clinical counsellors we’ll dive into topics that shape us and help us understand what it means to be human.

They’re an opportunity to learn from experienced mental health professionals, ask questions, and gain practical insights in a relaxed, welcoming environment without the financial barrier of ongoing therapy. Whether you’re simply curious, supporting someone you care about, or looking to better understand yourself, these evenings are designed to make quality psychological knowledge more accessible to everyone.

Because understanding ourselves shouldn’t be reserved for the therapy room.
