About this Event
Psychological safety is widely misunderstood — especially in Asian contexts where hierarchy, face, harmony, and collectivism shape behaviour differently from Western assumptions.
This session will:
- Challenge imported narratives of psychological safety
- Examine misuse and oversimplification in Asian organisations
- Equip facilitators to work with cultural nuance rather than against it
About the Facilitator:
Resident Master Trainer of Workplace Asia, Weixi is effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin, and his style can best be described as thoughtful spontaneity, in that he uses a range of fun and informal participatory approaches, backed by knowledge and clear intent, to trigger learning and reflection.
A keen student on strategy execution and the human side of change, he also partners with renowned consulting organisations such as Korn Ferry and Duke Corporate University to deliver tangible results for international clients such as KPMG, SAP, Shell, Bayer, Accenture, DBS Bank, SingaporeAirlines, China Nuclear Power, Ping An Insurance, BMW, and Tetrapak.
In the past 18 years, he has established himself as a well-regarded and respected facilitator in the adult learning community and was appointed a member of the Forbes Coaches Council. He was also recognised by the Institute of Adult Learning as a Specialist Adult Educator for his contributions tothe field. His most recent book, published in 2024, is titled “Hybrid Work Revolution – what teams are facing, and leaders are missing”.
