About this Event
In psychedelic spaces, consent isn't just a formality — it's the container that makes genuine healing possible. And yet it's rarely taught.
This two-hour workshop brings Betty Martin's Wheel of Consent into the psychedelic world, offering facilitators, journeyers, and curious participants a real framework for understanding the dynamics of giving, receiving, taking, and allowing in altered and communal states.
Note: This is a sober, educational workshop. No substances are involved.
What we'll explore:
- The four quadrants of the Wheel of Consent and how they map onto psychedelic facilitation, ceremonies, and integration work
- Shadow patterns common in psychedelic spaces: the guru dynamic, the caretaker trap, the compliant doormat
- What embodied consent actually feels like — in the body, not just on paper
- Practical communication tools for before, during, and after a session
- How power dynamics show up in the facilitator/client relationship — and how to navigate them with integrity
A note on touch: Some exercises in this workshop may involve consensual touch. Touch is always optional — you are at choice for everything, every step of the way. Non-touch alternatives are available for every exercise. This is a consent workshop: your limits will be respected absolutely.
Who this is for: Psychedelic facilitators, integration coaches, ceremony participants, harm reduction advocates, and anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of consent and their relationship to themselves. No prior experience needed.
What you'll walk away with: A lived, embodied understanding of consent — not just conceptual. Practical language and tools you can use immediately. A clearer sense of your own yes, no, and maybe.
About your facilitator: Josh Jupiter is a New York City-based psychedelic integration coach and creator of the Psychedelic Consent workshop. His work draws on Betty Martin's Wheel of Consent, years of experience in psychedelic spaces, and his own journey from participant to practitioner. He is the founder of Brooklyn Balance: Psychedelic Integration Coaching.
