About this Event
The people of Gaza are facing severe crisis after a year of being bombarded, with some 40,000 people who have been killed so far, 70% of whom are women and children. And now they have the destruction of hospitals and starvation and disease. And so Palestine Solidarity Campaign Southampton, who regularly organise vigils and Peace Protests, have also now organised this urgent fundraising event, with proceeds going to Medical Aid for Palestinians in order to give urgent medical support and aid.
And so after the last sell-out success or our last Concert for Gaza we have scoured Southampton to bring you two excellent bands.
Mary Jane
With a full band lineup fronted by two fiddlers and singers, local legends Mary Jane play an exciting mix of folk rock and also fast furious and fiery Celtic rock'n'reel. The group consists of: Jo Quinn (vocals, flute, fiddle), Gillie Hotston (fiddle, vocals), Paul Alan Taylor (guitar, bouzouki), Jon Hawkes (bass) and Steve Barker (drums). They have several albums out and their energetic stage shows have become an increasingly popular live attraction at events, festivals and venues throughout the UK during recent years.
Sushimoog
Sushimoog are balloon-like aliens from Sagittarius B2 who make epic space-disco-synth-rock exploring the joys of space travel & Earth’s collapse into dystopian AI domination. They are fronted by the suave “Sebastian Thermidore” & “Pastis”.
This is a rare and fantastic opportunity to see such good artists on the one bill. We would like to thank them for giving up their time to support this event.
Doors open 7.45pm. Concert starts at 800pm. Licensed premises but no bar, so just bring a bottle. So much much cheaper than paying bar prices ! Some glasses available.
Tickets to see two excellent bands are £8.30/£6.13(concessions) (This includes a small online charge from Eventbrite for provision of online sales and services.) But it is worth it. There are a small number of tickets available at the concession rate which is just for people who registered fulll time unemployed, in full time education including children, or in receipt of pensions credit, so book early.
Tickets can be purchased online until 12 noon on the day of the event. After which time they can be purchased on the door. (These are of course subject to availability, and so if you want to come it is not worth taking the risk.) All information is correct at time of writing, but we regret we cannot accept responsibility for any last minute changes outwith our control.
