About this Event
Join us for a public screening of "Pr*son in Twelve Landscapes," a nonfiction documentary that explores incarceration not from within Pr*son walls, but through the everyday spaces where its effects are most often felt: front yards, workplaces, public spaces, and social rituals. The film offers a thoughtful meditation on the geography of imprisonment in the era of mass incarceration, tracing how prisons shape communities, economies, and relationships across the United States.
Before the screening, a panel discussion will bring together scholars, advocates, and people directly impacted by the carceral system. Panelists include filmmaker Brett Story, Angie Jefferson from the National Council for Currently and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls, and Kentel Weaver from the Transformational Pr*son Project. The discussion will be moderated by B. Arneson, Doctoral Researcher in Human Geography at the University of Edinburgh.
We gratefully acknowledge the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research and Geographies of Social Justice for their sponsorship of this event.
The G.06 Training & Skills room is fully step-free, wheelchair accessible, and offers flexible seating to accommodate all guests.
