Protocol: A Practical Perspective Part 2
About this Event
Part Two: Speech and Understanding Communication
Because Protocol is such an individual and collaborative journey, it can be hard for newer kinksters to find spaces and people to learn from. This class covers the basics of effective communication, how to be respectful in communication, and how to recognize disrespectful "respect" in conversation.
This is Part Two of a four-part series, spanning Mindset, Speech, Posture, and Positions, each having a focus, exercise, and check-in related to the class titles. Each part builds into the other, or can be experienced as a standalone class, although I truly believe it will be beneficial to experience the full series!
Accessibility Note: The event space is up a flight of stairs. The class itself will involve physical movement, including sitting, kneeling, standing, from the floor to upright positions. All activities are highly encouraged, but entirely voluntary; Consent comes first. There will be cushions for the floor spaces. Please hydrate and plan accordingly.
Meet the Organizers
Lady is a sadistic dominant who started in kink about 10 years ago after expressing her ideal relationship to a confidant and hearing back, "oh that sounds a lot like a bdsm contract!" (They would not elaborate.) Her primary focus has been in Ethical Power Exchange, Etiquette and protocol, and what she likes to call "the practical application of fantasy" - finding the places fantasy and reality intersect, and finding ways to make the ordinary and everyday, extraordinary. She finds comfort and community in the open, honest, and straightforward communication and the emphasis on everyday consent practiced in kink, and wants to continually find ways to bring that same sense of confidence and ease to as many people as possible.
Sara is a professional Relationship Coach and a Switch who is known for her deep curiosity and compassion. She's been coaching for almost 7 years with an emphasis on self-realization, with the past two years formally turning toward a focus on Relationships & Kink. Although having a pretty rocky start, she has found her experimentation and study in kink has been healing and empowering. Specifically noting that it has "led me to deep self-discovery, vulnerability and acceptance of intimacy of all kinds."
Sara, KCKinkCoach, is graciously providing the space and hosting the eventbrite link for this class.
Sara and Lady both embrace gathering and sharing knowledge as part of their purpose, and have the desire to help people feel more empowered to be their full, authentic selves.
We believe normalizing the "weird" helps people feel more secure in themselves, and that fostering understanding through clear education and exposure is a big part of that.
