Join TRC as we paddle the Paw Paw River to enjoy some river time while also looking for prothonotary warblers. TRC has installed several nest boxes on the river to help this floodplain forest indicator species. These beautiful warblers are helping us understand the health of our floodplain forests along the Paw Paw River. Come and learn more about the warbler and the Paw Paw River's floodplain forests. This section of the river is rated as beginner but at low water conditions may pose some challenges due to tree falls. A personal floatation device (PFD) is required for everyone’s safety. TRC does not have boats to rent. Please bring your own boat and we will provide a shuttle to the take-out.- Arrive 9:30 AM to prepare for a 10:00 AM launch
- Start at Maple Lake and take out at County Rd 665
- Distance and estimated Paddle Time: 2.6 miles in 2-3 hours
If we cancel due to weather, we will post on Facebook and if weather permits, we will move the paddle trip to Sunday June 14th.
