Please join us in educating Rodeo patrons that animal abuse is not acceptable and should not be considered entertainment.

The foundation of Rodeo entertainment is the degradation and abuse of other animals, including bulls, cows, calves and horses. Unlike circuses the physical abuse of animals is part of the rodeo. The animals run from fear and buck only because of the pain caused by the bucking strap. The Grand National Rodeo presents us with a unique opportunity to educate patrons, not found at many other rodeos, most of which are smaller, take place in cattle and ranching country and draw mostly hardcore rodeo fans. Because the Grand National Rodeo takes place at the Cow Palace in Daly City it not only draws hardcore rodeo fans but also draws curious San Francisco Bay Area people who aren’t familiar with rodeos and are receptive to understanding why rodeo is abusive to animals.

In 2019 the Grand National Rodeo was four days long and, after years of leafleting the Rodeo, the attendance was very low. This year the Rodeo is down to two days long but due to the Covid shutdown in 2021 & 2022 we are seeing very high attendance at Bay Area rodeos this year, and we expect high attendance at the Grand National also.

Leaflets and signs will be provided.
