HOME PROTEST AND NEIGHBORHOOD OUTREACH!
The former lab chimps being held at the Humane Society’s sanctuary Project Chimps are living miserable lives and HSUS and the management of PC don’t seem to care. So we’re going to pay another visit to HSUS Board of Directors member Steve White’s place to protest the abusive and inadequate living conditions for the chimps are experiencing.
According to more than 20 whistleblowers, former caregivers and veterinarians:
• these chimps live in barren concrete enclosures with only 10 hours of outside time per week. One group of 14 chimps had no habitat access for eight months.
• they get shockingly poor medical care such as untreated broken limbs, untreated infected and rotten teeth, untreated deep wounds and untreated parasitic infections.
• The current dog-and-cat vet gives them exams only once every FOUR YEARS!
Steve White’s neighbors tell us he cares about animals and is involved in dog rescue. We are asking him to extend his compassion to the chimps and, in his capacity as board member, demand that HSUS replace the Executive Director at Project Chimps with an individual with actual chimp experience and expertise, someone who will address and resolve the lengthy list of issues which the executives at HSUS and PC have been repeatedly made aware of but refuse to acknowledge or deal with.
TIME/LOCATION:
3pm. We will meetup in BACK PARKING LOT of the Montana Avenue Branch Library at 1704 Montana Ave in Santa Monica. From there we will walk a short distance to the 600 block of 17th Street. Please be on time.
NOTE: This event is coordinated to follow an anti-fur demo in Beverly Hills from noon to 2 organized by our friends at CAFT. We hope everyone attends both!

MASKS:
We are still in a pandemic - masks are required. Let’s keep each other safe while we fight to keep other animals safe from human exploitation.
JUST SAY NO TO PLASTIC
We ask that activists not bring single-use plastic bottles or plastic straws to this event. Both trashed plastic and vivisectors/animal abusers K*ll animals. Let's not advocate for some animals while we contribute to the habitat destruction of others.
