Shama is a resident of Madison, AL. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Optical Engineering from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Her engineering career began at Teledyne Brown Engineering. She later worked for Time Domain Corporation and Mentor Graphics Corporation.

Shama is currently the business owner of Evening Light Designs, LLC. Her business focuses on social media content writing, website maintenance, and cybersecurity training.
