Join us for a special community event featuring a screening of Piano Forte.
🎞️ ABOUT THE FILM
Written by Toni Wills in partnership with the Suncoast Community Legal Service, Piano Forte tells the powerful story of 78-year-old Eliza and her grandson Robert, exploring the complex realities of ageing, family pressures, Enduring Power of Attorney, and elder abuse. Through an emotional and relatable narrative, the play highlights how financial abuse can occur subtly within families, while reinforcing the importance of dignity, choice, and older people maintaining control over their own lives and decisions.
Following the screening, attendees will hear from an expert panel featuring representatives from Legal Aid, Seniors Rights and the Ageing and Disability Commission.
The panel will unpack key themes from the film, provide practical information and give audience members the opportunity to ask questions during an interactive Q&A session 🙋.
We are also pleased to welcome NSW Ageing and Disability Commissioner Jeff Smith, who will be attending the event.
After the panel discussion, attendees are invited to stay for a light lunch 🥗 and connect with a range of local organisations and service providers
Information stalls and networking opportunities will provide a chance to ask questions, access resources, and learn more about supports available within the community.
This event aims to spark important conversations, increase awareness, and help build safer, more informed, and connected communities for older people.
