NCNW is a 501©3 not-for-profit, volunteer organization founded on December 5, 1935, by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. Our mission is to lead, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities.  The Queens County Section was organized on May 13, 1987, and chartered on August 30, 1987, by Reva Anthony to carry on Dr. Bethune’s legacy. Our local Queens-based community service projects focus on clothing and food distribution, cultural arts, economic development, education, health, international issues, voter education, Thanksgiving baskets for families in need, and youth leadership development.
