I am personally concerned about the additional noise, truck traffic, light pollution, and any potential runoff from an automotive repair shop on that land. I'm concerned that this development plan could have significant negative impact on the wildlife protection area and the purpose for that area. Hundreds of species of birds use the wetland as a migration stopover, nesting grounds, food source, and home. Community members all over Dane county use and enjoy the natural area for wildlife viewing, photography, and enjoying the outdoors.
Please attend the Dane County Board to reject this zoning change because it is incompatible with the surrounding land use, i.e. the wildlife protection area. You can also submit comments to [email protected]. I encourage you to attend the May 26th 6:30pm public hearing on the proposed zoning change in person at the City County building or via zoom. According to the Dane County Zoning website, each attendee will have up to 5 minutes to present information or concerns about the proposal.
