About this Event

Hosted by , Managing Director of .

Join us at the RSA for a morning conversation with and founders of PropUp Project, as they share how a practical idea born on television sets became a scalable sustainability model for the UK screen industries.

Kate and Emma began their careers as runners in comedy entertainment television. As they progressed working across all major UK broadcasters, so did a shared conviction that the industry they love could, and should, do more to tackle its waste problem!

In 2021, they turned that belief into action and founded PropUp Project.

Today, PropUp has developed a practical, scalable model for circular production. The organisation rehomes, resells and recycles props, sets and equipment from film and television, combining efficient set clearance with impactful redistribution to schools, charities and community groups across the UK - supported by clear, transparent reporting.

Over the past four years, PropUp has built an impressive client list including: Netflix, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Hat Trick, Studio Lambert, A24, Hungry Bear Media, CPL, Left Bank Pictures, Lifted Entertainment and many more…

In this time, they have successfully rehomed more than 50,000 props and won several industry environmental and impact awards.
