PROPTER HAWK:
Established in 2020, Propter Hawk is a rock and roll outfit from the ambiguous corners of Toronto, Ontario. Commixing influences and sounds, Propter Hawk is Humble Pie, The Beatles, The Band and Otis Redding tossed in a burning barrel at the dark end of a unmarked street. Malorie Blake (lead vocals), Alec McEachern (lead guitar), Andrew Blake (rhythm guitar), Brian Derro (bass, backup vocals), and Jimmy Ruddock (drums, backup vocals) formed Propter Hawk through the broken shards of former bands and shady, desperate classified ads.
Resurfacing from the pandemic with a deluge of material, the band laid down their finely tuned tracks at Pineship Sound in Toronto with Carlin Nicholson and Mike O’Brien of the staple Canadian rock band Zeus. Employing vintage gear and a live horn section, Propter Hawk established the foundation of their sound on their impending self-titled debut record. Lifting themselves from tavern floors to the stage and now, with the release of their first single “Theatre Of The Whole World”, this fiercely dedicated and experienced group of musicians is ready to reveal their distorted vision of a new era of rock and roll.
THE HOWLIN' GALES:
New to the scene, The Howlin’ Gales offer a refreshing taste of what modern music is missing most: a rare blend of traditional instrumentation with a mystical resonance. Inspired by icons like The Black Keys, Bob Dylan, The Band and other legends from the country, folk, blues and rock & roll worlds, the Toronto-based group uses gratingly mesmerising vocals with lyrical pictures to draw listeners into their world. A duo including Mark Sinclair (vocals, guitar) and Marcelo “Johnny” Maltez — (drums), The Howlin' Gales have steadily been building a loyal fanbase through their powerful yet emotive sound. After the release of their second EP ‘AT MIDNIGHT’, following after their initial EP release, 'The Howlin' Gales'. The five-song project recounts deeply heartfelt stories of sorrow, grief and friendship while still allowing self-interpretation for the listeners. With plans for an eastern Canadian tour, listeners should be on the lookout for what The Howlin’ Gales have in store for 2022.
RUMBLE SONS:
We are Rumble Sons. Three parts Irish, one part Canadian. Band founders Ben and Zac met in Ireland a handful of times only to solidify their rock connection years later in Toronto of all places.
Set out for world domination in music, they later by fate recruited Cas 'The Virtuoso', a.k.a. 'The Boy Wonder' (on bass), and Eilish, 'Bonham eat your heart out' (on drums).
We wear our heart on our sleeve and channel our life force through our instruments. We aim to have fun, and provide musical performances that take you outside of yourself, and yet, remind you that everything is going to be just fine.
Making working class bands a reality again.
FIGHTING CHANCE:
Toronto Indie Rock quartet with a unique blend of late 60’s pop songwriting and mid 90’s guitars.
