Lewiston’s property revaluation has left many residents with questions:
Does a higher valuation mean my tax bill will increase by the same amount? How can I estimate what I may owe? Do I qualify for property-tax relief?
Drop in anytime between 4:00 and 6:00 PM for clear information and practical, one-on-one help.
At the open house, you can:
• Learn how revaluation and the mill rate work together
• Use an online tool to estimate your property-tax bill
• Compare your current taxes with an estimate based on your new valuation
• Learn about property-tax relief programs
• Get help completing applications for programs for which you may qualify
• Speak with Shanna Cox and other candidates for office about your questions and concerns
Programs discussed will include the Homestead Exemption, Property Tax Fairness Credit, State Property Tax Deferral Program, veterans’ and blind-person exemptions, renewable-energy equipment exemptions, and the property-tax abatement process.
This is a drop-in open house welcoming all Lewiston property owners. There is no formal presentation, no appointment is needed, and you may come anytime between 4:00 and 6:00.
