Le film sera présenté dans un format hybride (en personne + en ligne) suivi d'une discussion avec la réalisatrice Caroline Cox.

Santropol Roulant warmly invites you to join the public screening of the film ???? ??? ??? ???? ?? ??, an inspiring documentary about resistance, connection to ancestry and land stewardship. The film will be presented in a hybrid format (in-person + online) followed by a discussion with director Caroline Cox.
Doors are at 5:30 PM and light refreshments will be served. The film will be screened from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, followed by a 45 minutes discussion. Physical space is limited, please RSVP! ? bit.ly/SR-projection.

À PROPOS DU FILM
Créé en 2021 par Caroline Cox et Tiffany Ayali, le documentaire Food for the Rest of Us examine comment le retour à la terre est lié à d'autres mouvements tels que Black Lives Matter, Idle No More et Times Up. Food for the Rest of Us est un long métrage qui présente quatre histoires de personnes qui vivent leurs vies selon leurs propres termes et met de l’avant des modèles inspirants et prête sa voix à une révolution pour un meilleur avenir, depuis la base !
Les quatre histoires : une ferme biologique gérée par des jeunes autochtones à Hawaï ; un cultivateur noir dans la ville de Kansas qui dirige une ferme-école ; une femme boucher casher au Colorado qui travaille avec la communauté Queer locale ; et une communauté inuit sur la côte arctique qui s'adapte au changement climatique avec un jardin communautaire dans un petit dôme géodésique.
À PROPOS DE LA CINÉASTE CAROLINE COX
Caroline est une cinéaste des Territoires du Nord-Ouest qui vit hors réseau et se spécialise dans les projets axés sur la culture, l'environnement et les modes de vie du Grand Nord canadien. Élevée dans une ferme du sud de l'Ontario, Caroline Cox s'est installée dans les Territoires du Nord-Ouest alors qu'elle était jeune et qu'elle travaillait comme musicienne folk avant d'adopter le cinéma comme moyen privilégié de raconter des histoires. Cinéaste et monteuse autodidacte, Caroline apporte une lentille brute et authentique à ses récits dans cette partie reculée du Canada qu'elle considère comme son chez-soi.

ABOUT THE FILM
Created in 2021 by Caroline Cox and Tiffany Ayali, the documentary Food for the Rest of Us will examine how getting back to the land is tied to other movements such as Black Lives Matter, Idle No More and Times Up. Food for the Rest of Us is a feature film that presents four stories of people living life on their own terms, serving as leaders and role models who are lending their voice to the underdog and leading a revolution to a better world, from the ground up!
The four stories: An Indigenous-owned, youth run organic farm in Hawaii; a Black urban grower in Kansas City who runs a land-farm at East High School; a female Kosher Butcher in Colorado working with the Queer Community; and an Inuit community on the Arctic Coast who are adapting to climate change with a community garden in a small geodesic dome.
ABOUT FILMMAKER CAROLINE COX
Caroline is a Northwest Territories based filmmaker who lives off-grid and specializes in projects that focus on the culture, environment and lifestyles of Canada’s far north. Raised on a farm in Southern Ontario, Cox moved to the NWT as a young woman working as a folk musician before embracing film as her preferred medium for story-telling. A self-taught cinematographer and editor, Caroline brings a raw authentic lens to her storytelling in the remote part of Canada she has come to call home.
