Project WILD Workshop (Mississauga)

Calling all educators! Are you interested in incorporating nature-based education into your teaching practice, but don't know how to get started? If so, this workshop is for you! Unleash the power of nature in your classroom with Project WILD.

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (arrive by 8:45)

What to be prepared for?

• Dress for the weather. This is an interactive workshop that will be held half indoors and half outdoors.
• Bring a lunch. We often take a working lunch during this workshop. Bring food that is easy to eat while participating and chatting.
• Ways to take notes: pen, pencil, notebook.
• Water. As this is active, it's important to stay hydrated.

• Project WILD helps learners develop the awareness, knowledge, skills and commitment needed to make informed decisions and to take constructive action for wildlife, habitat and the environment.

• Tried, tested and true, Project WILD has been an industry standard for environmental education in North America for more than 40 years!

• Activities are designed to be infused into mandated curriculum subjects such as art, health, language arts, math, music, physical education, science and social studies.

• The guide can be used by both classroom teachers and non-formal educators, including resource specialists, conservation officers, camp counsellors and Scout and Guide leaders.

• The guide contains all the information needed to successfully plan and run each activity (objectives, method, background, list of materials, procedures, evaluation suggestions, activity extensions, key vocabulary, etc.).

By taking part in this workshop you will receive:

• Interactive training on how to integrate environmental education into all subject areas.

• A printed copy of our Project WILD activity guide featuring 146 fun, interdisciplinary activities, games, and lesson plans for all ages and abilities/

• Access to an online learning library filled with supplemental educational resources and conservation projects.

• A professional development certificate awarded by CWF.
