This introductory Family and Community Day class will prepare you to expand your expertise into a new talent and perhaps assist you in furthering your current business now or in near the future. This class will introduce several different skills and techniques in the areas of: Soap-making: This is a beginning-level soap-making workshop class designed to teach you how to make soap by hand in the comfort of your own home or private workspace. This class will teach you the basic melt and pour techniques, how to create signature soaps, and what to do when your recipes need a little fine tuning.
Theater Arts: This is a workshop class that introduces the fundamental skills and tools required for developing the acting process. In addition, students learn how to behave as a professional actor as they demonstrate the focus and respect necessary in an acting class, on stage, or on set.
Gardening: Basic Gardening will take you from the basic plant parts, and why they are important all the way to the production of fruit. You will discover the importance of having good soil, and what that means, and how to correct it in your yard. The gardener's best friend is the compost, and the beginning gardener needs to understand just what composting is and why that is such an important skill.
Candle Making: This day workshop class will open for you the amazing array of possibilities that exist in your pursuit to create beautiful, functional, and sweet-smelling candles. From basic molded and container designs, through the wonders of ice, chunk, votive, and the all-mysterious floating candles, you'll learn the easiest and safest ways to work with wax, wicks, and molds.
Jewelry Making: This day workshop will introduce beginners on how to make and create their own jewelry, fabrication techniques, design fundamentals and equipment use.
