Ages 14-19
This FREE class invites students with experience in 35mm film photography and darkroom processes to deepen their sense of voice, concept-making, and community building through photography. In this class, students will investigate the relationship between photography, civil rights engagement, and ethically responsible story-telling, finding ways to deepen their own photo and creative practices.
All materials are provided, including camera, film and photo paper.
Aja Joi Grant is a Cleveland visual artist, photographer and educator. She creates powerful portraits using digital photographic media, blending the modern human psyche with nature and ancestral instinct. She graduated from Cleveland State with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Art. She creates the photo magazine series Ease, and Photo Poets, the street photography feature for CAN Journal.
