Project Ready's: Voting Power Experience

In partnership with Be Ready, Project Ready is thrilled to invite you to our 1st annual- Voting Power Experience in Newark, NJ.

Our two-month-long interactive exhibit will allow Newark residents to explore historical moments during the Civil Rights Movement that set the tone for why our ancestors prioritized voting. Additionally, this experience will support visitors in understanding how to exercise their voting power and how to actively engage in the coming local and state elections in 2023.

3% of Newark residents turned out to vote in the Newark School Board Election last year. Overall, Newark continues to produce some of the lowest voter turnouts in the state of New Jersey. All that said, we see opportunities for our city to step up and set the town for voter turnout in elections to come!

We are calling on all residents ages 0-100+ to come out and celebrate Newark’s first Voting Power Experience!
