Project Launch - Dear Friend
About this Event
Cara-Friend warmly invites you to the Linen Hall Library for the launch of our new two-year heritage project: ‘Dear Friend: Preserving and Celebrating LGBTQIA+ Heritage in Northern Ireland’, made possible with generous funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This project focuses on the rich and vibrant LGBTQIA+ heritage of Northern Ireland, with a focus on Cara-Friend. Founded in 1974, Cara-Friend is the longest-running LGBTQIA+ charitable organisation on the island of Ireland. Please join us to learn about our planned outputs and how you can get involved! Have you engaged with Cara-Friend over the last fifty years? We would love to help you preserve your story! Are you interested in the history of our LGBTQIA+ community here in Northern Ireland? You’re more than welcome to get involved with the project and join us for volunteer days in archives and libraries where you can learn about and preserve valuable and fascinating documents relating to the history of our organisation, and the LGBTQIA+ community more broadly. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and the players of the National Lottery, who made this project possible!
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
