Project HeadSTRONG: Self-Esteem & Self-Compassion Training (In Person)
About this Event
This session will provide an overview of how self-esteem and self-compassion affect mental and emotional wellbeing, and how they connect to everyday life, relationships, habits, goals, and personal values. Participants will explore practical strategies for recognizing signs of emotional stress, challenging negative thinking patterns, building healthier coping skills, and practicing grounding and mindfulness techniques.
Together, we will discuss ways to strengthen self-worth, respond to ourselves with more compassion, communicate needs more clearly, and identify supports that can help promote ongoing wellbeing.
This program is designed to be welcoming, reflective, and skills-based. No prior experience is needed. This is an educational mental wellbeing program and is not a substitute for therapy, crisis support, or medical care.
Topics will include:
- Recognizing signs and symptoms of emotional stress
- Understanding how mental wellbeing impacts different areas of life
- Identifying healthy coping strategies
- Challenging negative thinking patterns
- Practicing grounding and mindfulness techniques
- Building healthy habits that support wellbeing
- Developing assertive communication skills
- Planning for ongoing support
