Join National Gallery artist educators for a full-day professional learning program at Bay Discovery Centre.
The program includes creative learning strategies for engaging with works from the national collection’s touring exhibition Of this Earth, with a focus on Arrernte Artist, Alfred Lowe's Along the Mountains II, 2023. Alfred Lowe will also be joining us onsite for an afternoon artist talk to share insights into his practice.
This session will have a First Nations focus, sharing Art Through Culture, the National Gallery’s learning approach to First Nations art. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their current practice and generate ideas to further embed Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultures and knowledges into their learning spaces.
This session is open to early learning, primary, secondary and tertiary educators, and other youth and arts professionals.
National Gallery artist educators will outline the Gallery's Creative Learning Approach to engaging with works of art, using open ended creative learning strategies that centre the artist’s voice. We will invite participants to share stories and ideas through an inquiry-led approach.
A verifiable digital certificate will be delivered to each attendee with 5.5 continuing professional development (CPD) hours.
This program includes:
