Our Speakers

Joy Glidden is the founder of and lead consultant for the Center for the Preservation of Artists’ Legacies. With over 30 years’ experience in the nonprofit and commercial contemporary artworld, she founded and served as the executive director of the DUMBO Arts Center (DAC) and the DUMBO Arts Festival in Brooklyn, NY. and was appointed director of Louisiana ArtWorks in New Orleans. She has developed and directed a PBS series that examines the ways in which art impacts our culture and continues to consult on a variety of public and private arts activities.

Paul Laster is a writer, editor, independent curator, artist, and lecturer. He is a New York desk editor at ArtAsiaPacific and a contributing editor at Whitehot Magazine of Contemporary Art. Laster has organized exhibitions for galleries and nonprofit institutions since 1985. An exhibiting artist, Paul Laster has had 17 solo exhibitions in the United States and Europe and participated in numerous group shows worldwide. As a lecturer and visiting critic, Laster has spoken on art and curatorial practices and the use of the Internet and social media for building careers.

Jennifer McGregor is a curator and public art expert with substantive experience directing, implementing, and managing contemporary art projects and programs. She directed the Wave Hill Public Garden & Cultural Center visual arts program, curating numerous topical exhibitions that connected the public with nature, culture, and site. She was the first director of New York City’s Percent for Art Program and was instrumental in starting the Public Art Network. Most recently she was the public art consultant for New York City’s Flight 587 Memorial in Belle Harbor, New York, and the New Instructional Building for the Bronx Community College.
