About this Event
Professional boundaries sit at the heart of credible independent scrutiny in children’s homes.
Regulation 44 visitors are expected to build constructive working relationships with providers while maintaining clear independence. Over time, however, familiarity can develop and professional challenge can soften without intention.
This focused two-hour session explores how Reg 44 visitors recognise and manage those dynamics in practice.
We will look at:
• Maintaining independence while working constructively with providers
• Recognising when familiarity and influence begin to develop
• Holding proportionate and well-evidenced challenge
• Protecting professional credibility over time
The session is interactive and discussion-led, creating space for Reg 44 visitors to reflect on real situations and share experiences with others undertaking the role. The Reg 44 role can often feel professionally isolating, and part of the aim of the session is to create opportunities for visitors to connect and learn from one another.
This session has always generated extremely positive feedback from attendees.
