What is ProductCamp Chicago?
ProductCamp Chicago is an “un-conference” focused 100% on learning and sharing knowledge, with no sales pitches allowed. Essentially, it’s training on all the current product management hot topics in the industry. You will meet product people, just like you, and learn about new trends, enjoy breakfast and lunch, and participate in fun raffles. Not to mention, a rousing happy hour at the end – what’s not to love?
ProductCamp Chicago was started in 2008 as the Midwest’s un-conference event following the incredibly popular Silicon Valley original model. Since then, there have been 11 un-conferences, each with inspiring keynote speakers. The best part is, each day’s content is generated directly from the attendees. What you care about most will be covered by the product professionals you came to see.
What is an un-conference?
The idea behind the un-conference is simple. The attendees of the original ProductCamp were tired of attending conferences with speakers whose presentations were thinly veiled sales pitches. If they were going to take a day out of their busy schedules, they wanted to learn about the current trends in the practice of product management, hear unique approaches to common product problems, and gain knowledge that they could apply the very next working day. Enter ProductCamp – there is one keynote speaker followed by a number of breakout sessions that are selected by the conference attendees and presented by their peers.
What are the breakout sessions?
This year, we are adding panels and workshops as options for our breakouts, in addition to our usual presentation format.
Breakout sessions are 1-hour long, and they are presented by your fellow attendees. All breakout topics are submitted by attendees and sessions are selected based on attendee interest. We will announce the agenda on September 20.
Breakout topics vary in what they cover, however they are all educational and related to product management in some way. We don't permit pitching or selling of any products, services, books, etc.
