The WA Made Film Festival invites you to join our exclusive masterclass, What I Wish I Knew... Producing Masterclass
with Kate Separovich. This invaluable session offers emerging and early-to-mid-career producers a unique opportunity to learn directly from one of Western Australia’s most experienced and accomplished filmmakers.
Focusing on drama production, Kate will share the lessons she’s learned—both successes and challenges—across her impressive career. Drawing on her work on projects like Evie, Good Fortune, Good Night, Dirt Music, and the West Coast Visions feature Proclivitas (currently in post-production), she’ll provide honest insights into what it takes to bring a project to life. Kate will also discuss the realities of the projects that never made it to production, offering crucial advice on navigating obstacles in the screen industry.
The masterclass is divided into four practical sections: Development, Financing, Production, and Post-Production — each followed by an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to dive deeper into specific topics and gain tailored insights.
