Kickoff for Making Luminary: Stars, Moons and Pyramids (one session class with followup work needed by students to complete).
Date: Thursday, March 27, 2026 For ages 16 and up.
In this 3-hour introductory workshop, you will have a choice to begin making a star, moon, or pyramid shape. This class is intended as a kickoff to get you started, and you will need to return to the studio to complete your project (luminary volunteers will be available to coach you on some evenings and weekends). No prior luminary experience is needed, but you should be comfortable learning to work with hot glue guns, sharp cutters, and glue. Some manual dexterity and steadiness of hand is needed as well. All materials and supplies needed to create your luminary are provided. You will need to provide your own pole for carrying it (there are usually folks who donate bamboo to the public as we get close to the Luminary Procession).
