PRJC's Season Opener: Craig Gildner's Blue Crescent Syncopators Live!

The Blue Crescent Syncopators have been entertaining fans of traditional and hot jazz for 18 years, including dancers of all ages. Started by bandleader Craig Gildner in 2006, the band’s formation comes out of Craig’s love for the music of New Orleans he heard upon first visiting in 1997. And naturally he has quite a 78rpm collection of Bix Beiderbecke, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, and Earl Hines. His mission since then has been to carry the torch, and reach new audiences with this music. His compatriots in the “mission” are: David Sager, trombone Anita Thomas, reeds Jon Mathis, trumpet Alan Dale, drums Pete Revell, bass Craig Gildner, piano/guitar/banjo.

Rosensteel Hall is right off the beltway with ample parking. It is also just a few blocks away from the metro's Red Line, Forst Glen stop. The Hall offers a great dance floor, plenty of seating, and has a cash bar with snacks. Come on out and "cut a rug"!
